About Anjanette

I help others feel more empowered and fulfilled through the practice of mindfulness. I believe that we all have the innate capacity to experience well-being, even in the midst of difficult situations, and there are things that we can do to feel better. I can show you how.

I am trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through Brown University. I am currently qualified to teach the 8-week (MBSR) course. I have my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Counselor Education and Supervision.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a skill that can be cultivated to strengthen one’s capacity for paying attention to what is happening in one’s life and in the body, mind and heart. The attitudinal foundations of mindfulness practice include: non- judging, patience, beginner’s mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, letting go, gratitude and generosity. These attitudes support reinforcing and deepening both formal and informal mindfulness practice. Research into mindfulness practices has shown that among the benefits of practicing mindfulness are the increase in focus and decrease in anxiety and stress.
