In this week’s video, I’m sharing a formal meditation practice called a body scan meditation. This practice can almost be thought of as a stroll through the body where you pay attention, in an open-hearted way, to all of the different areas of the body one by one. The body scan starts with the feet, moves upward and ends with an opening of the awareness to the entire body. The body scan is helpful in reestablishing a connection between the mind and body by bringing awareness to the sensations (or lack of sensations) as they manifest. So, in this sense it helps to tune back into the body with a gentle acknowledgment of what is present.
