Formal and Informal Meditation

February 18, 2022

In today’s video, I’m sharing a bit about formal and informal meditation. For me, formal meditation involves setting aside a specific amount of time and a designated place to engage in practices such as the body scan, sitting meditation, and mindful movement. In formal practice, I’m training my brain by continuously bringing my attention back to rest on an area of focus. The second way to practice is informal practice which takes place in the rest of your life. So, what this means is that any activity can be made into a mindfulness practice such as (e.g., driving, reading a book, brushing your teeth) when you bring your full self, senses and attention to it. Thanks for watching!
